Considering children: How can experts and activists without access to power influence policy making –
This conference is the first anywhere in the world to consider collectively the impacts of Covid suppression measures in Low- and Middle-Income Countries. The conference brings together scholars from the health and social sciences who have been working on questions regarding education, gender, socioeconomic impacts and political economies related to the Covid response. While there has been much focus on these questions in High Income Countries, there has yet to be a sustained and inter-regional discussion from Low- and Middle-Income Countries. This conference addresses this disparity.

About the Speaker
Gül Pamukçu Günaydın, MD has a degree in medicine and specialist training in emergency medicine. She is an assistant professor at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine and a consultant of emergency medicine in Ankara Bilkent City Hospital. She is a member of Emergency Medicine Association of Turkey (EMAT), and on editorial board of Anatolian Journal of Emergency Medicine. She is a member of Turkish Medical Association School Health working group.
