Room Service. Kristel O’Sullivan

Day 19 of my 4th 21 day quarantine in Hong Kong. I’d started working as a lecturer in 2020 but had to travel to my husband overseas. He couldn’t enter Hong Kong without being vaccinated (something he successfully refused) so I did 4 rounds of the world’s longest quarantines in small hotel rooms where I was locked up with a tracking wristband that had been attached at the airport. I’d open the door 3x a day to collect my meals with multiple CCTV cameras watching my every move and signs warning guests of the high fines and prison sentences that awaited if they made a false one. I had zero human contact bar with the hazmat crews who’d come with a 1950s sci fi ‘virus vacuum’ to test me 11 times during my stay. I spent 2 Christmasses and New Year’s Eves locked up. I guess I love my husband 😉
