About

This WebApp was developed (and is managed) by Collateral Global (Charity no. 1195125) – a charity dedicated to researching, understanding and communicating the global impacts of policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We developed this WebApp to provide you a platform to tell the world how the Covid responses, restrictions and mandates impacted you. By adding your story, you will also be contributing to a global dataset on the impacts of Covid policy responses that can be used to better inform future policy.

The WebApp is also designed to allow you to read about people’s stories from your own town, city, or any country simply by navigating the interactive map and clicking individual stories. You can further refine your search by topic (e.g., health, economic), tags (e.g., lost learning, missed hospital appointment) or by country.

Information about the Terms and Conditions of use and your privacy can be found at the bottom of the home page.

Questions

Why do I need to have an account?

  • Firstly, we need to verify that you are a real person and the best way to do this is to ask you to create a verified account using your email address.
  • Secondly, we want you to control exactly how your story is used. So, in future you can log in to your account, access and edit your story or even delete it completely.
  • Lastly, you may wish to add more than one story. For example, you may wish to add a story about an economic impact and then at a later date add another story about a health-related impact. You can do this through your account meaning you do not need to add your user information again as it will be automatically included.

How is my data used?

We developed this WebApp with your data security in mind. Our default settings mean your personal data are anonymised – although you are free to change these parameters if you wish. When setting up your account you are also provided a range of different options on how we can use your story – from only having it appear on the website through to full use by researchers. The choice is yours. For more details, please visit our Privacy and Data Policy here.
