there is no school

With the start of covid pandemic, the first thing almost all countries did was to close schools. That meant keeping the kids home, away from peers. The first semester was a disaster because the schools were not ready for that and even the second and 3rd semesters turned out to be very hard for especially small children. Parents who had the opportunity to work from home suffered because it was very hard to to so with a small kid around. And it was even worse for parents who worked in strategic jobs like healthcare because there was no childcare, no support from elderly of the family because of lock downs. I found my solution by working nightshifts and weekends and taking care of my daughter during the day, but that meant I had no rest for months.
